Who we are
HackGuard is a hackathon operations and integrity platform that is currently in development. This notice covers the HackGuard website and its early-access form. It will be updated before the product launches.
What we collect
When you request early access, we store what you enter in the form:
- your name, work email and organization;
- your role, and optional details about your event: format, expected size, month and what you need most;
- any message you write;
- the time you agreed to be contacted.
We also store where you came from (a referral tag or the referring website, if any) and a one-way hash of your IP address, used only to stop automated spam. We never store the IP address itself.
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
Why we use it
Only to contact you about early access and to plan onboarding for your event. We process it because you consented when you submitted the form. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or add you to unrelated mailing lists.
Where it is stored and who processes it
Your request is stored in a PostgreSQL database and handled by two service providers:
- Neon: database hosting (Amazon Web Services, United States).
- Vercel: website hosting.
This means your data is stored outside India. Connections are encrypted, and access is limited to the HackGuard team.
How long we keep it
While early access is running, and no longer than 12 months after our last contact with you. After that we delete it, unless you become a customer, in which case the product’s terms apply.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or withdraw your consent, at any time by replying to any email you received from HackGuard. We will act on your request within 30 days. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything that happened before.
